During Fire Prevention Month, the HFD conducts several Fire Prevention visits to our local Schools and Child Daycare Centers.
So far, we have completed our Babysitters Program and have visited Sacred Heart School, and Creative Beginnings Child Daycare Center.
At these visits, the emphasis and goal is to teach the children and staff the importance of practicing fire safety, smoke detector & CO detector activation sounds, and to familiarize the children with the look, sound, and purpose of the friendly firefighter in the funny costume with a helmet and mask who is there to help.
