| Hartsdale Rescue 56, Tower Ladder 15, U-156 with the Collapse Trailer and Car 2171 responded. Squad 36 units (Hartsdale FD, Fairview FD, Greenville FD and Scarsdale FD) reported to White Plains command and began an initial shoring plan. Upon the arrival of the City of Yonkers Collapse Assets shoring operations were divided by floors. The collapse was located on the 5th floor into the 4th floor of a 13 story parking garage Units from all 5 departments placed Paratech rescue struts as temporary shoring on Floors 1, 2, 3, 4. In conjunction with the White Plains Building department, City and Private engineers a shoring plan was then established to replace and supplement the Paratech struts with wood shoring. All six departments completed shoring operations working under the direction of White Plains Command. At the height of the incident 57 Paratech struts were inside the building. Along with 6 air shore column kits from the City of Yonkers. Members also constructed 13 four post vertical wood shores. Units operated approximately 7 hours completing operations. This included multiple operational periods as well as unified command meetings and briefings. This incident demonstrated the interoperability and technical capabilities of all responding agencies. |
