North Central Ave-MVA with Car Fire

On September 9th at 1353 hours, Hartsdale Fire Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call for the report of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole and was now on fire, unknown injuries. Hartsdale Fire Dispatched Car 2172, Engine 171 and E-170. Engine 170 arrived on location and reported they had an active car fire confined to the engine compartment, all occupants appeared to be out of the vehicle. After an initial size up, Engine 170's crew went to work stretching a line as GPD EMS assessed the occupants of the vehicle for injuries. Car 2172 arrived on location and assumed North Central Ave Command. Engine 171 assisted the crew of Engine 170 with gaining access to the engine compartment and extinguishing the blaze. NCA Command made a notification to Con Ed for a damaged utility pole.
The vehicle fire was soon extinguished and the situation was brought under control. Both Occupants of the vehicle were uninjured in the accident. At 1442 hours, North Central Ave Command was terminated and all HFD units went back into service.
