At 11 pm on Saturday August 23rd, Hartsdale Fire Department placed the new Car 2172 into service. The new Tour Commanders Vehicle is a 2014 SSV Chevy Tahoe and replaces the old 2003 Chevy Suburban. Custom lighting and design package from the Cruiser Division out of Mamaroneck, NY. The new car is designed to be a rapid primary response vehicle for the Tour Commander to arrive on location of an incident, complete a primary assessment and size up and establish Command. Car 2172 is equipped with a compliment of EMS equipment, Fire Extinguishers, Forcible Entry Tools, Reference Guide Books, Communications equipment, Hand Tools, SCBA and a Mobile Incident Command Board.
