At approximately 8:50pm on Friday evening July 19th, the HFD was requested to respond with an Engine to 77 Knollwood Road for a reported fire on the roof of the Royal Palace Indian Restaurant. First due units from the Fairview Fire District (FFD) arrived on scene of the 1-story restaurant with heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Roof-top Unit (RTU) was on fire. FFD members set up ladders to the roof and stretched a hoseline, HFD members secured a hydrant, and Greenville Fire District (GFD) members set up their aerial device to the roof. The scene was called under control as the units on scene quickly extinguished the fire, overhauled a cooking duct, and found negative extension to the structure of the building. Stay safe!
