After a three year absence due to the COVID Pandemic, the Hartsdale Fire Department Annual Memorial Day parade returned on Monday, May 30, 2022, to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country.

A brief ceremony prior to the start of the parade included the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem. Hartsdale Firefighters Justin Vializ and Frank Gray laid a wreath at the Veterans Memorial Monument in De Santi Plaza across from the train station. Firefighter Vializ is a Marine veteran and Firefighter Gray is an Army veteran.

Following speeches by local politicians and Hartsdale Fire Department Chief Ray Maseda, the parade proceeded down East Hartsdale Avenue to the Four Corners where it turned south on Central Avenue finishing at HFD Station One, where everyone got to enjoy ice cream sandwiches. Photos by Alan Zale
