Hartsdale and Fairview Units Respond to Vehicle Fire on The Sprain Brook Parkway

On August 8th at 1645Hrs Engine 171 was dispatched mutual aid to Fairview for an activated fire alarm. Fairview was already handling a motor vehicle accident on Dobbs Ferry Rd. At 1647Hrs Hartsdale with Fairview and Greenville were dispatched to the Sprain Brook Parkway South Bound North of Jackson Ave for a vehicle fire. Car 2172 and Engine 169 responded. Fairview Car 2121, Utility 7 and Engine 175 responded. Units arrived with a well involved vehicle fire. It was quickly identified that gasoline was leaking and feeding the fire. Hartsdale and Fairview units quickly set up a nursing operation allowing both engines to share their booster tanks. The initial 1 3/4 attack line was shut down when a second 1 3/4 inch class B foam line was stretched. The fire was quickly knocked down. Squad 15 provided coverage for HFD and FFD from the staging area on Dobbs Ferry Rd.
