Hartsdale Responds on Scarsdale 10-75

Just after midnight on Sunday Morning, Scarsdale Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the residence at 10 Berwick Road. At 00:33 Hours a working fire was transmitted, after a smoke condition was discovered in the basement division. Engine 170 was requested along with Car 2173 to respond to the scene as the F.A.S.T. Upon the arrival of Engine 170, Command advised that the fire was already knocked down, overhaul was in progress and that Engine 170 members would be needed to assist with opening ceilings in the basement division. F.A.S.T. was deferred to Greenville FD Ladder 4, who was also assigned with the 10-75. HFD Members assisted Scarsdale FD with opening the ceiling / plenum space in the basement and areas of the first floor to thoroughly check for fire extension. Engine 170 was released an back in service at 02:19 hours. As a result of the quick actions the Scarsdale FD, and the thorough overhaul, the fire damage was contained to a very small area, with no injuries to civilian or FD personnel
