The Hartsdale Fire Department is proud to be hosting the Municipal Training Officers Delivery of Confined Space Rescue Technician Training. This is a 32 hour class which provides emergency response personnel with practical training in confined space hazards, air monitoring and ventilation, space isolation techniques, Personal Protective Equipment, retrieval systems and methods for confined space rescue. Confined space rescue provides tremendous challenges for first responders and are unique in that the majority of confined space victims are would-be rescuers, highlighting the need for properly trained and equipped personnel.
At the conclusion of the course, fourteen additional members of the Hartsdale Fire Department along with four members of Fairview Fire Department and two members of Greenburgh Police Tech Rescue will be at the Technician Level. These newly trained members will augment the existing compliment of trained personnel. This is a great example of the different organizations sharing services and providing the highest quality of service to the residents of Greenburgh.
