Early Sunday morning just after 1 am with the thunder and lightning storm in full effect Hartsdale Fire was alerted to a possible basement fire on Ridge Road. A full assignment with Greenville Squad 15 was dispatched. Hartsdale units encountered some severe rain, hail, winds, thunder and lighting while responding. On arrival HFD units were advised there was a fire in the basement that was possibly extinguished by the homeowner. HFD members stretched a hose line to the front door, while another crew entered the basement. Hartsdale members ensured the fire was extinguished. The power was disconnected and the walls were checked for fire extension. Upon verification that the fire was extinguished all the items that had been on fire were removed and crews began removing the smoke from the building.

While HFD units operated at this alarm Greenville Squad 15 with HFD Car 2171 responded to an activated fire alarm on West Hartsdale Ave and an emergency medical call on East Hartsdale Ave.

HFD would go on to responded to five additional alarms between 3am and 7am.
