Over the last two weeks 13 Hartsdale members completed a joint training program with local police and fire departments. The training was to prepare fire, police and emergency medical responders for an active shooter incident. The training was extremely detailed including several realistic scenarios. A special thank you goes out to the Greenburgh Police Department for providing this great training opportunity.

Additionally on February 20th, 14 Hartsdale members attended the Municipal Training Officers in-service training. This training featured Battalion Chief Jim Silvernail of Metro West Fire Protection District, St. Louis County, MO. Chief Silvernail is the author of Suburban Fire Tactics. The 8 hour training program provided in-depth strategy and tactics training. This program highlighted initial operations for smaller fire departments that don't have fully staffed companies. The tactics learned can be applied to everyday firefighting operations in the Hartsdale Fire District.
