At 19:04 hours, Hartsdale Fire HQ received a call from an occupant at 51 Fieldstone drive reporting a smoke condition inside her apartment. Units arrived on location and confirmed there was a moderate smoke condition inside the apartment with an unknown source. A 10-75 was transmitted, while members on scene stretched an attack line, and secured water from a nearby hydrant. An extensive investigation revealed an extinguished kitchen fire in the apartment below the original caller's apartment. Units were released and units returned to service at 20:00 hours. As a safety note, we would like to remind everyone to practice safe cooking practices, and avoid placing combusitble products anywhere near hot stovetops.
