The Hartsdale community has 19 new babysitters who recently graduated from the Hartsdale Fire Department’s annual Baby Sitting Class.

Hartsdale Fire Chief Ed Rush and Captain Chip Nanko handed out certificates to the students who successfully completed the class, at a graduation ceremony held at Station 2 on Thursday evening, October 3, 2019.

Currently in its 47th year, the Hartsdale Fire Department’s Baby Sitting Class teaches students how to handle different emergency situations using classroom and actual hands on training. Since its inception, the program has trained almost 1400 babysitters. The seven-night course has an emphasis on safety and fire prevention.
