The Annual Hartsdale Fire Department Memorial Day Parade, honoring those who gave their lives defending our country while in the military service, took place on Monday, May 27, 2019. The day started with a wreath laying ceremony at the Hartsdale train station plaza, followed by the parade that proceeded along East Hartsdale Avenue, finishing at Station 1 on Central Avenue. The Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts marched in the parade, along with the members of the Hartsdale and Greenville Fire Departments and Greenburgh Police Department, as local residents lined each side of East Hartsdale Avenue to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country. Following the parade the Hartsdale Board of Fire Commissioners conducted their annual inspection of the department at both firehouses. Photos by Alan Zale.
