Greenburgh’s 9-11 Remembrance took place on Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019 at Webb Field on Central Avenue in Hartsdale, NY. Members of the Hartsdale, Greenville and Fairview Fire Departments, along with the Greenburgh Police Department, participated in the event. The Keynote Speaker was Hartsdale Fire Commissioner Peter Woods who is a retired NYPD Sergeant and responded from home to lower Manhattan on the day of the attacks. Commissioner Woods' speech focused on how we all came together as a nation on that day, and the weeks and months that followed, and said that is what we must do today to honor those who perished.

Following Commissioner Woods’ remarks there was a moment of silence followed by students from Sacred Heart School reading the names of the New York firefighters and police who died that day. Members of the Greenburgh Town Board read the names of local residents who perished that day.

The Greenburgh Police Department Honor Guard did a Gun Salute and the ceremony concluded with everybody singing God Bless America. Photos by Alan Zale
