On Wednesday Ocotober 3, just after 1130pm Hartsdale, Fairview and Greenville Units Responded to the Sprianbook Parkway for an MVA. Upon arrival one vehicle was up on the guardrail on fire. First arriving Fairview units quickly extinguished the fire and ensured the vehicle was unoccupied. Hartsdale units on arrival were assigned to handle the second vehicle which was over the guardrail on it's roof with a single occupant still inside. HFD members and Fairview members stabilized the vehicle with Paratech rescue struts. Then the drivers door was removed. The patient had a severe leg injury that required a tourniquet be applied. The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported ALS to the medical center.

On October 4th, 2018 we responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on West Hartsdale Avenue with Car 2172, Engine 170 and Engine 171. Upon arrival it was determined extrication of the occupants would be required. The vehicle was stabilized and a handline was stretched. Hartsdale members removed the passengers door with hydraulic and edraulic tools. The dashboard was then rolled to assist with removing the injured patient from the vehicle. HFD members and Greenburgh Police EMS removed the patient from the car and the occupants were transported to Westchester Medical Center.
