2 Patients Saved After Being Found Unresponsive

This morning at 1034am Hartsdale Fire Engine 170 responded to North Central Ave for CPR in progress. E170 arrived on scene with multiple Greenburgh Police and Greenburgh EMS Units. Members from all agencies located a woman down unresponsive and not breathing. Members of both agencies immediately performed a patient assessment and began Rescue Breathing via a Bag Valve Mask. After determining the patient was unresponsive due to an Opioid OD, GPD paramedics administered multiple rounds on Narcan. The patient was moved to the ambulance and additional Narcan was administered. The patient began to breath on her own and come to. Upon questioning, the woman reported she was with another person who was in a car. A search of the parking lot yielded a male unresponsive and not breathing in a vehicle. The occupant was removed from the vehicle. Hartsdale and Greenburgh members immediately began Rescue Breathing via Bag Valve Mask. Again multiple rounds of Narcan were administered by GPD Paramedics as rescue breathing was continued. Both patients were conscious and alert upon transport to the hospital. The scene was turned over to GPD for further investigation.
