Two newly elected Fire Commissioners were sworn in and a new Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners was appointed on Monday night, January 8, 2018, at the monthly Hartsdale Fire Department Board of Fire Commissioners meeting at Station 2.

Peter Woods, who ran unopposed in last December’s election, was sworn into a five-year term. Mr. Woods ran for the position held by Fred Overing, who retired from the Board after serving for twenty-one years.

Robert Iamonico was sworn into a two year term, after defeating Mona Fraitag, in the December election, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Commissioner Michael Goldstein. Mr. Iamonico had been appointed to the Board in March, 2017 to temporarily fill that vacancy until the December election.
