Commissioner Fred Overing was honored at Hartsdale Fire Department’s monthly board meeting at Station 2 on Monday night, December 11, 2017, for his more than forty-seven years of service to the department. He was presented a Fire Commissioner’s Award by Chief Ed Rush and his fellow commissioners honored him with a cake.

Commissioner Overing, who was first appointed to the Board of Fire Commissioners on November 12, 1996 and has served on the board ever since, was presiding over his last meeting since he has decided not to seek reelection. He has been Chairman of the Board for the past two years.
